Ultrasound
Adam and Dave both provide bedside ultrasound, for both diagnosis and guided injections, and have both undergone specialist training. Adam has been scanning for over 10 years and has extensive experience. Dave has been scanning since 2018. We have two of the latest GE Logiq ultrasound machines.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to build a detailed picture of our soft tissues and bones, and allows us to accurately diagnose issues such as tendinopathies and damage to ligaments along with muscle injuries. Accurate early diagnosis ensures we are treating the correct issue from the start, getting you back to full fitness quicker.
It also allows us to ensure accurate placement of injections, whether this is steroid, platelet rich plasma, or hyaluronic acid. This has been shown to improve outcomes and is much better tolerated by patients.
We offer joint injections and around joints, all under ultrasound guidance.
It also allows as to remove calcium from tendons (barbotage), and drain haematomas.
Ultrasound scanning results in detailed imagery helping in accurate diagnosis and rehabilitation.

If we need further imaging, we both have access to musculo-skeletal services in the hospital, including the MRI scanner, for both public and private patients.
